Let's Get Acquainted
Hello, my name is Greg, and this blog was molded from my life experiences. After a 30-year career in public safety, serving as a Sheriff's Captain and contracted Chief of Police in Southern California, I had the opportunity to retire fairly early. That retirement came right before the global pandemic, which put many plans and experiences on hold. Well, it is time to catch up!
Although the blog is focused on retirement living and challenges, it would not be complete with sharing pre-retirement financial strategies and how to get there in one piece. The blog will discuss preparing for retirement (even if you're in your 20's), how to stay retired (if you desire), and useful information and tools to make retirement more enjoyable. Equally important (and a big focus) is sharing travel experience; what to expect from diverse destinations and providing useful tips to make a particular visit more meaningful.
As a visitor here, you are part of a fantastic community. The community includes those, regardless of age, who are planning to retire years from now or days from now, those who are currently retired, and those who simply love to travel and share tips, experiences, and perspectives.
I look forward to sharing my perspective (and expertise where appropriate) to assist you with reaching your goals and what you might expect. This includes the emotional, physical, and financial realities of retiring. I sincerely look forward to learning about your travel experiences because knowledge is power.
